THE HONEY MONEY PROJECT - ALMOST HOMELESS
Keeping Senior in Their Home - Until They are Called Home

Miss Honey's House
I first met Miss Honey when I stopped by to say hello, and introduce myself. Hint: Never stop to talk to a lonely old lady, unless you have about two hours of free time. I noticed that her exterior was in desperate need of help. Without asking, I just started raising money in the area to paint the outside of her house. I only needed $800 for materials. When I told her what I had done, she got all misty, and asked me inside for a glass of sweet tea. It's a southern thing. You dare not say no. When I saw her kitchen, I knew that poor woman needed a whole lot more than paint. Agian, without asking, I fixed her faucet leak, the went home and opened up crowd finding campaign. Everything she showed me said it would be about $30,000 to fix all that was wrong. The single most rewarding things I have ever done, I did because it was the right thing to do.
She's 92 and just sweet as can be.
She bought this little house when she was 64.
"I didn't need no man to help me. I bought it for cash money."
28 years later, and inflation made even simple repairs too expensive. She needed help.
Many meals were prepared here.
Time and lack of funds, little by little, the roof leaks destroyed a once cute little home. It happened so slowly, she didn't even know it was that bad.
A $624/mo Social Security check doesn't go very far.
We got this.
Do it Right, or Don't Do it at All
We inspected everything. The whole roof needed replacing.
We masured every inch. We drew it all up. We made a plan.
No Way Around it. ALL New Roof
We broke out the CAD and designed new trusses. We calculated all of the material costs. We got to work
